Overview
Human HER2 gene amplification probe is used to determine the copy number status of the HER2/neu (ERBB2) gene in cancer tissue, primarily breast and gastric carcinomas. Identifying HER2 amplification is critical for selecting patients likely to benefit from targeted therapies like trastuzumab (Herceptin).
