ETO gene (8q21.3-22.1) labeled as orange, with a length of 1000 kb; AML1 gene (21q22.11-22.12) labeled as green, with a length of 1100 kb.
Overview
AML1/ETO gene fusion probe is used to identify the translocation, which fuses the AML1 (RUNX1) gene on chromosome 21 with the ETO (RUNX1T1) gene on chromosome 8. This fusion is a hallmark of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), and is generally associated with a favorable prognosis.
