D7S522 locus (7q31) labeled as orange, with a length of 330 kb; 7 chromosome centromere (CEP7) labeled as green.
Overview
D7S522/CEP7 probe is used to detect deletions of the long arm of chromosome 7 (7q-) or the loss of the entire chromosome (Monosomy 7). These aberrations are among the most common and clinically significant findings in Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
