ETV6(TEL) gene labeled as orange, with a total length of 600 kb; AML1(RUNX1) labeled as green, with a total length of 1100 kb.
Overview
ETV6 (TEL)/RUNX1 (AML1) translocation probe is used to detect the t(12;21)(p13.2;q22.1) fusion, which is often invisible on a standard karyotype. This probe is critical in diagnosing and determining the prognosis of pediatric B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL), where this translocation occurs in roughly 25% of cases.
