Overview
MYCN gene amplification probe is used to detect copy number variations of the MYCN proto-oncogene at chromosome 2p24.3, and is a critical prognostic tool in pediatric oncology, since MYCN amplification is found in approximately 25% of neuroblastoma cases and is the most significant indicator of an unfavorable outcome.
