Overview
SRD(1p36) gene deletion probe is designed to detect deletions in the Smallest Region of consistent Deletion (SRD) on chromosome 1p36. This region is a critical hotspot for tumor suppressor genes, particularly the CHD5 (Chromodomain Helicase DNA binding domain 5) gene. This probe is mainly used to diagnose neuroblastoma, where 1p36 deletion is a characteristic and adverse prognostic marker, as well as other malignancies like gliomas and lymphomas.
