Overview
8q24.3 probe is used to detect copy number variations—such as microdeletions or duplications—at the distal end of the long arm (q) of chromosome 8. Whilst the adjacent 8q24.21 region is famous for the MYC oncogene, the 8q24.3 locus is a distinct genomic region associated with rare neurodevelopmental syndromes and specific cancer profiles.
