GATA2/MECOM (RPN1/MECOM) gene anomaly probe is used to detect chromosomal rearrangements involving the GATA2 and MECOM (formerly EVI1) genes. It is primarily used to identify the inv(3)(q21.3; q26.2) or t(3;3)(q21.3; q26.2), which are high-risk markers in myeloid malignancies.
