[Overview]

PCM1-JAK2 fusion is a rare genomic abnormality resulting from t(8;9)(p22;p24.1), which fuses the Janus activated kinase 2 gene (JAK2) with the human autoantigen pericentriolar material gene 1 (PCM1), resulting in a constitutively activated tyrosine kinase. Observed in both myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms and can present as myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), myelodysplastic / myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS/MPN), acute leukemia (B or T lymphoid, myeloid or mixed phenotype), lymphoblastic lymphoma or blast stage of a chronic myeloid neoplasm.
